About the Author
Sandra F. Smith received her BS/RN degree from
Skidmore College and her masters degrees in public health and psychiatric
nursing from the University of California, San Francisco. She's held teaching
positions at UC San Francisco and San Jose State University. Mrs. Smith
attended the School of Education at Stanford University where she is a
doctoral candidate.
In 1976, Sandra Smith co-founded National Nursing Review to conduct
review courses and publish test preparation books for RN licensure candidates.
She is the author of five review texts for RN and PN candidates and co-author
of three nursing skills textbooks for undergraduate programs. Her current
skills books are Clinical Nursing Skills, now in its seventh
edition, and the Photo Guide to Nursing Skills , published
in late 2001.
She directed the highly effective Sandra Smith Review Courses that were
conducted for RN licensure candidates throughout the US from 1976 to 1996.
Many of her review course faculty have been active contributors and
editorial advisors to her review books. Mrs. Smith has also formulated the
RN and PN software programs and the PN assessment test published by National
Nursing Review.
Jones & Bartlett, located in Sudbury MA, publishes and markets the
Sandra Smith review books. Prentice
Hall Nursing publishes her skills textbooks.
